I wish we could say all 9 are thriving. But thursday morning we lost a boy. 😦 We were so sad… then Friday we took a girl to the vet because she was having nursing issues and it turned out she needed to be put down because she had cleft pallet. 😦 Those were not good days. We wonder if the boy didn’t have that too… because his symptoms were similar. What happens is when they nurse milk goes into their lungs. Either way… it’s heartbreaking when you do all you can and it’s just not enough.
On the bright side… we have 7 very rolly polly ones. It cracks me up how they roll around. It’s so much fun to watch them thriving. Two of the boys are so piggish though that we take them away sometimes so they don’t get too fat. They are still in the basement… it’s so handy having them inside over walking out to the shed all the time. Especially since I have kids who need to be watched in the house. Mia doesn’t really like being inside. But for a non-house dog she is doing amazing. We let her out pretty often but if we don’t soon enough she will let out one or two big barks until she hears us thumping down the stairs. No accidents yet. 🙂
We have a 2 puppies with forever homes already. We are excited to be meeting these families in a few weeks. 🙂
We plan to give them temporary names any day here. We are thinking a Christmas theme for this litter. So we are open to suggestions!
